Back to Nature

We return to the Grand Canyon. This final visit, we’re on the higher, cooler and greener North side rim.

Our stay for two nights is a wooden lodge in the wilderness (okay it was near a huge visitor centre, gift shop and fancy restaurants), with a view down into the Grand Canyon. Beautiful and peaceful.

Some downtime during these two days, reading (no internet or TV, told you it was back to nature).

We had the loveliest walk in the woods, alongside the canyon rim, with deer, squirels and swooping birds for company, to a general store for a few late lunch supplies and more peanut M&Ms for Mike.

This amazing picture taken by Mike, one of the local residents we found along the path.

Grand dining room too, where we had a delicious meal and much wine the first evening.

One last daring feat for Mike, a trek down to Bright Angel Point, before we head off to the next state park, Zion.
