Sandscapes

Antelope Canyon, as the Americans would say, is awesome.

You will have probably seen pictures (somewhere) of this extraordinary geological feature; the colours, light, shapes and curves – sculpted by centuries of water flowing through this earth fissure. Thankfully one of the many flash floods didn’t happen today…

As if we needed more tourist action, we just had time to visit Horseshoe Bend, a popular must-see feature along the Colorado River. Despite the heat and the climb up and down the mountain to see it, we managed to make it back for our 2.20pm tour of Lower Antelope canyon with our Navajo guide, Cruise.

Kate’s cooking in the heat but looking cool at the Horseshoe.

It’s impossible to convey the size and depth of this feature in a photo, but there are a couple of boats and a vehicle down at the bottom.

A couple of shots at the Glen Canyon Dam overlook, just outside Page.

Back at Antelope Canyon.

Cruise pointed out the lion, can you see it?

Beautiful curves!
