At Heathrow, awaiting our 7 hour BA flight to Newark: take-off at 10:35 and arrival at 13:20.

BA had cancelled the flight from Gatwick to JFK and moved us to this earlier take-off slot, which works out much better for us as we get to NYC, and to navigate our way to the hotel in daylight!

After investigating costs of bus vs taxi vs shuttle transport options at Newark we decided on the Shuttle as it provided the convenience of a drop-off at the hotel and only $2 each more than the bus!

After a rather hair raising ride where the driver seemed to be having a domestic argument on the phone in one hand and the other on the wheel, we arrived at out hotel; the Hyatt House on 815 Avenue of the Americas (AKA 6th Street). Check in was smooth and we were soon on the 24th floor with an amazing window view.. eek!
